Don Tuttle Biography
25 years ago Don needed images of his ethnographic textile collection. Unable to find a photographer that could capture and communicate the essence of textile art with sensitivity, Don bought an 8x10 camera and a few lights and began shooting.
Years earlier, after earning a BS degree in Physics from Carnegie-Mellon University, and through some odd twists of fate, Don ended up working in the decorative arts as an antique dealer and later in the healing arts as a Yoga teacher. During this period, Don's eyes were opened to rugs as art and he began collecting ethnographic textiles.
A lifelong appreciation of art and nature's beauty, enjoyment of engineering and craftsmanship, a desire to learn and solve problems and work with people have seeded the development of an art photography practice that now includes all forms of visual art.
